In the new trailer for The Gifted:
- A father has to decide between his family and his job as a persecutor of mutants/powered people.
- Young people discover they have super powers and gradually learn to use them.
- A shadowy agency hunts them down – to what end we’re not sure.
Where have we heard this before?
It does remind me a lot of the trials and tribulations of the Bennett Family in Heroes but I’m sure this X-Men spin-off TV series will have plenty more to offer due to the rich tapestry of characters they can utilise from the comics.
Stephen Moyer plays a district attorney who prosecutes mutants, but his life changes when it becomes clear his children have powers. He must decide whether to betray his family or go on the run. Of course the answer is to go on the run and the family is helped by mutant rebels led by Marcos Diaz (Sean Teale).
What tore them apart is what will bring them together. From Director Bryan Singer, and in association with Marvel Television, comes the all-new FOX series, THE GIFTED.
