He may not really be sci-fi or fantasy but John Wick is definitely some kind of superhero. I’m not sure this sequel can live up to the gritty action of the original that led to it becoming a bit of a cult classic, but it’s definitely worth a go.

Now that Deadpool has proven that you can make money from an R-rated Superhero movie, Logan looks like it could be the best of the X-Men movies. Huge Ackman’s final outing as Wolverine sees him as a fading force with waning healing powers, trying to protect a young female clone of Wolverine from an evil organization. And with Professor X suffering the effects of Alzheimer’s it promises to be a gritty, dark tale of violence and self-sacrifice.

Following up what is still, for me, the best Marvel movie ever is going to be a tall order. But the trailer seems to have the same mix of action and comedy to make this my most anticipated movie of 2017.

This could have been an episode of Black Mirror. Tom Hanks leads the people in “The Circle” where everything that everyone does is common knowledge. But guess what, it’s all a bit more sinister than he wants you to think it is.

Is this the movie that can bring the DC Universe back from the awfulness that was BvS DoJ and Suicide Squad. Wonder Woman was one of the few high points of BvS so you never know.

Spidey back in action in the MCU after his brief outing in Captain America Civil War. Tom Holland has been really well received as the Webbed Wonder and we have cameos from Robert Downey Junior and Michael Keaton as the baddie (his second recent outing as The Birdman). Promises to be another hit for Marvel.

Rumoured to be called “Forces of Destiny”, Episode VIII will continue the story of the Skywalkers and potentially reveal Rey’s parentage and the nature of Supreme Leader Snoke. Anticipation will be at fever pitch by December next year.
